For the first time in history the most complete collection of Lesher Dollars will be presented in auction at the National Money Show in Atlanta GA Friday February 28 at 6:00pm est. 

Some of the presented examples have never been documented in any auction catalog…until now.  Kagin’s, as official auctioneer of the National Money Show, will be unveiling the most scarce and rare Lesher Dollars to see the light of day. Many examples have eluded collectors for decades and this is the only, and possibly last, opportunity for rare and unique Lesher Dollars acquirement.

Notably is the Bank Type Lesher Dollar with only 10 known.  The bank type example is paramount for a collector to be of 8 collections to hold a bank type Lesher Dollar.  Two pieces are held at the American Numismatic Association and the Smithsonian. 

1900 Lesher Referendum Dollar

There is only one complete type set in existence and Kagin’s will be selling this collection after 31 years of dormancy. To have a complete set one must possesses the Trademark Applied for Lesher Dollar.  The proposed example was assumed to be presented to the United State Patent and Trademark Office for consideration in 1901 is finally being presented for public sale for the first time in 119 years.

  • The Nelson Lesher dollar as the finest known.
  • The Goodspeed Lesher Dollar with only 5 known examples two of which are in museums.
  • And the one of a kind Stein and Rosser Lesher Dollars with only 1 known for each variety.
